Dear Classroom Families,
Happy Friday and cheers to successfully completing three weeks of school. Kudos to Ms. Lisa and Ms. Ariana for building a strong foundation at the start of this school year with community building activities, shared agreements, and engaging lessons.
Ms. Lisa and I agreed that we would send out bi-weekly classroom updates to you in an effort to keep the lines of communication open but not overwhelm you with too much communication. Here are a few things we want to cover in this week’s communique:
1. Lunch: As we return to a more regular Montessori serving, eating, and clean up practices, it would be most helpful to pack a fork and/or a spoon with your child's lunch as needed. Additionally, starting next week, please pack a placemat with your child's lunch. It can be as simple as a folded cloth napkin that they can easily unfold and place underneath their lunch.
2: Pizza Friday: We are looking for 3-4 parent volunteers willing to serve as drivers on a rotating basis to take 2 students each week to complete pizza Friday shopping at Sprouts. The duties would entail picking up students at the front office on Thursday morning, driving them down the street to Sprouts, assisting students in selecting and purchasing the predetermined fruits and veggies, and driving them back to campus. This would be a 45-min commitment once a month permitting we get 4 parents to rotate on a monthly basis. If you are interested in volunteering, please email me (Elma) and I will send you a signup link as well as additional instructions. Please also make sure you have submitted your volunteer clearance paperwork and been cleared by administration to serve as a driver.
NOTE: After checking with the front office, we now understand that parents who volunteer as drivers will not undergo a full background check but will have to sign off on an extra affidavit for safe driving in addition to all the required volunteer clearance paperwork.
Another way you can offer to help is by picking up and delivering pizza on Friday mid-morning. If you're interested in helping out, even if only once, please add your name to the Pizza Friday Pick Up List.
3: Weebly Page: I am going to work on updating Ms. Lisa's Weebly page next week. I will be adding signup genius links, updating wishlist and booklist tabs, and uploading new forms. Please stay tuned for updates once the website is brought to current. In the meantime, you can check out the Weebly page HERE and bookmark it for future use.
4: Thank You: I appreciate all the swift replies to my request for contact information. Thank you all for welcoming me and sending along your contact info for our shared classroom list. I will get that up on the Weebly page through a secure link sometime in the next couple of weeks!
